What is an e-passport?

An e-passport or electronic passport is a passport featuring an electronic microprocessor chip and antenna that integrates the person's biometric identity, such as picture, fingerprint, and Eye-Irish. E-passport holders do not have to stand in line for visa checking for immigration. Rather they can pass immigration very quickly using electronic gates. Now e-passport is available without any hassle by applying online from anywhere in the country.

Please follow the below guidelines to apply for a e-passport.

1. Must book an appointment to visit the Passport Application Centre. You can visit either www.expatserviceskl.com or contact our help desk.
2. Kindly visit the application centre on the scheduled day of your appointment and ensure that you have all the necessary documents with you.
3. The application form must be completed at the application centre by a designated officer in the presence of the applicant.
4. Make the relevant payment exclusively at the application centre (please make sure to obtain the receipt, as it is necessary for passport collection).
5. Proceed with the enrollment of your biometric data.
6. Retrieve your passport at the nearest post office once the process is complete.

Required Documents:

1. Either your Bangladeshi National ID card or an online Birth Certificate with a 17-digit code.
2. Your existing Bangladeshi passport along with a photocopy of the initial seven pages.
3. Photocopy of your existing Malaysian visa.
4. The originals need to be presented for scrutiny.
